These tastefully designed Hamsa shaped earrings sparkle brightly like real opals, but with a lower price point! Made with imitation embedded opals of a similarity to the highest quality south Australian white harlequin opals. Unlike natural opals that often have a water content between 6 and 10% these realistic imitation opals are not subject to the anhydrous effects of cracking and deterioration and yet they display the similar beautiful spectral defraction of light.

Crafted into the Hamsa pattern which is a revered palm-shaped amulet popular throughout Israel, the Middle East and North Africa.

Depicting an open right hand, this image is recognized and has been used as a sign of protection throughout history, the Hamsa is believed by some to provide defense against the evil eye. It has been theorized that its origins lie in Ancient Carthage (modern-day Tunisia) and may have been associated with the Goddess Tanit.^[3]

The Hamsa is also variously known as the Hand of Fatima, the Hand of Mary, the Hand of Miriam, and the Hand of the Goddess.
